Mini Revival With The Lean Mean Green Monster

By Morgan Malyon

When you think of the Mini, a couple of things spring to mind. A students first car, The Italian Job (lets go with 1969 original, for the purposes of this discussion), two Monte Carlo rally wins, Twiggy, the Swinging 60s, and a whole lot of other pop culture idealism. And lets not forget Mr Bean.

1955 Ford F100 Pickup

Built byKobus van der Merwe and Sons

When boss man Joe put me in contact with Kobus & Sons Classic Cars it was to shoot a recent project of theirs. An awesome 1967 Pontiac, but the car was still in need of a few finishing touches and so that shoot was postponed. But when I arrived, the guys had a replacement for me to shoot. The Volk Rodster A Hand-made Hotrod

Most hotrod builders work from the approach of finding a car body in a style that they like (and often have to take what they get). A lot of the time this works out just fine and most of the classic, famous rods are well-known vehicles, perhaps only slightly altered from the original..but what if your ideas of style come from a little out of the left field if Ed Roth and Aaron Grote are among your heroes. Then you end up with the Volk Rodster.
