SB Motorsport Unleashes the 1000hp GT-R Powered Nissan Navara-R
SBM founder Stephen "Baggsy" Biagioni proudly states, "I’m really proud to deliver the first Navara-R to the world and to have its debut at such a global event as the Isle of Man TT. This event has always been considered extreme for any petrolhead. So for me, it made total sense for us to use it as the launch of the most extreme Navara on the planet. While others have spoken about such a build, our Essex workshop has brought it to reality, and we’re not just stopping with one."
The Project of a Lifetime
SB Motorsport, renowned for Europe’s wildest Nissan GT-R Drift car, is ready to unleash the GT-R powered Nissan Navara-R. This groundbreaking project, driven by Stephen Baggsy Biagioni and his team at SB Motorsports, took advantage of the pandemic-induced motorsport hiatus to bring the wild, Skyline-powered shop truck to life.
The bodywork was meticulously developed by Sterling Automotive, who laser-scanned the original factory body and transformed the standard Nissan Navara into a sleek, road-legal beast. With the CAD work complete, the APH3G workshop took over to manufacture and produce the full body kit.
Engineering Marvel
The SB Motorsports team designed fully custom suspension turrets to fit the original GT-R subframes, equipped with fully custom ST Suspension labeled KW V4 Racing Coilover Suspension with HLS 4 Hydraulic Lift-System. The Navara-R rolls on custom BBS 20-inch wheels and boasts immense stopping power from Alcon RC6 & RC4 brakes.
The heart of the Navara-R, a VR38 4.1L engine built by @pcheshire_ap with over 160 hours of labor, features components from various high-performance brands, including Supertech Performance valve train, Tomei camshafts, ARP bolts, King Bearings, ASNU Fuel Injection inlet manifold, SamcoSport hoses, Forge Motorsport intercooler, oil coolers, radiator, and all pipework. Walton Motorsport custom-made the exhaust manifolds, and the system utilizes Vibrant Performance tubing, Garrett Motion G30 660 turbos, K&N filters, Turbosmart wastegates, Funk Motorsport heat management, Phil at Wire Monkey’s wiring, Syvecs electronics and ECU, and mapping by Roman at RaceCal.
The GR6 transmission was expertly assembled by Dodson Motorsport in Auckland, New Zealand, featuring a Dodson Promax Heavy Duty gearset, ready for any challenge the Navara-R faces. After fitting the incredible body kit, the Navara-R received its finishing touches at FLS Wraps for its public debut.
Ready for the Spotlight
SBM founder Stephen Baggsy Biagioni exclaims, "I absolutely cannot wait to get the Nissan Navara-R out in front of the crowds at the Isle of Man TT and Goodwood Festival of Speed! Showing off in this beast is going to be utterly epic!"
The build-up and exposure of this project have been a collaborative effort, with immense support from sponsors, the SB Motorsport team—Corbin, Ian, Sam, and Mike—and friends, family, and his partner Naomi. Baggsy expresses his gratitude, stating, "Without you, none of this would have been possible!"
