1960 Ford Mustang Classic Recreations Villain

For enthusiasts who dream of owning a 1960s Ford Mustang without the downsides of sixty-year-old engineering, Jason Engel is the man to speak to. In an era marked by increasing prosperity and technological advancements, the automotive industry thrived, giving rise to cultural icons like the Ford Mustang. Today, the Mustang endures as a symbol of coolness, but driving a stock classic pony car can be challenging, with its outdated technology and engineering.

Jason Engel, a true Mustang aficionado, is the owner of Classic Recreations, a shop dedicated to building Shelby-licensed recreations faithful to the original car, with a modern twist. Known for building the 1967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" from *Gone in Sixty Seconds*, Engel has played a significant role in reviving interest in classic Mustangs among a new generation of enthusiasts. His line of Shelby Mustangs was personally approved by Carroll Shelby before his passing, adding to their authenticity.

Classic Recreations decided to create its own design of the ultimate 1968 Mustang Fastback, appealing to both young and old enthusiasts. The result is the "Villain," a meticulously crafted machine that blends classic style with modern technology. Starting with an actual 1968 Mustang Fastback bodyshell, the Villain features 3D moulded composite body panels with carbon fibre trim, enhancing aerodynamics and reducing weight while maintaining the Mustang's timeless lines.

Inside, the Villain boasts leather high-back seats with five-point harnesses, a Sparco leather steering wheel, and a modern Old Air climate control system. A Bluetooth-equipped JVC head unit paired with Kicker speakers and subwoofer ensures a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience. Under the hood, a twin-cam, fuel-injected Ford Racing 302 "Coyote" crate motor delivers 475 horsepower, with an optional supercharger boosting it to 770 horsepower, managed by a Tremec six-speed transmission and Centerforce DYAD twin-disc clutch.

To improve handling, the Villain features modern coil-over suspension on all four corners, a Quadralink 4-link system in the rear, and a modern rack and pinion power steering system. Wilwood brakes with massive six-piston callipers and slotted and cross-drilled 14-inch rotors provide ample stopping power.

Classic Recreations has essentially built a 1968 Mustang imagined through a younger enthusiast's eyes, eliminating the downsides of sixty-year-old engineering while preserving the classic car driving experience. The CR Villain is comfortable, compliant, and versatile, making it suitable for daily driving, road trips, and track days. With its classic Fastback lines, the Villain is a modern classic that pays homage to the original while offering a thrilling driving experience for enthusiasts of all ages.
