Here's how far I've got after 5 years after the start of the project. Phew, I'm nearly at the end of the project. The light is at the end of the tunnel !

We have an Ettiene Bothma (Streetrod factory) glass fibre 1933 Ford body on a customised chassis. Customised because Keith Potgieter from Western Street rods fabricated the front suspension for me. The front, independant suspension rests on Bilstein coil over shocks and 2" dropped Mustang II spindels. Bilstein hubs, discs and 2 pot calipers provide the stopping power. This is mated to 18" wheels at the front shod with Yokohama Advans 215/45/18, and in the rear, 285/40/20 on 20" rims. The power is derived from a 350 Chevy L98 TPI Motor that I installed roller rockers, converted it to a high rise intake manifold, 650 Double Pumper Holley Carb, MSD HEI distributer and running an electronic water pump. The power is driven to the 700R4 transmission with a Lokar shifter and then to the standard Jaguar rear end. I now need to start the brake plumbing, run the fuel lines, wire it up and then get it ready to prime and paint and upholster. The biggest decision is the colour. I still have not made up my mind. One day it's silver, then gunmetal grey, then dark metallic blue but every second day it's black. The interior is already decided on as we've already purchased a dark ox-blood red leather.

Thanks. You just get distracted with all the colours around and you want to be different from everyone else. I agree on the black even if its a metalic black. It'll look neat, smart and classic.
When I qualified as a motor technician I wanted to build myself a Cobra. Although a Cobra is cool I wanted something different. Thats when a I met Keith Potgieter, when he was building his T-buckets. I settled on something in between, a go fast Cobra and T-Bucket with attitude. Building this car has it's plateaus as soon as you reach a flat you just need to visit the Streetrod factory or Western streetrod workshops or even read a streetrod magazine and you get your "gees" back. But you have to find the time in between family, friends and work. Once this car is finished I already have my next project working in mind. The wife wants a '48 Chevy truck. Nothing fancy, almost original but with power to shift it down the street and set on some steelies.

Hi Joe. I'm going Hi-boy. Thats part of the reason I never went for a jag front end. I wanted the front to be nice and clean as well as good handling.
