Before you disappear into the distance after being shown away Dane, it would be interesting to know what year your Effy is, what style you plan on building it and what it will be used for mainly. That might help you in determining which Ford V8 motor to use.
By the way, i like your initiative of using a Ford Motor in a Ford car Grin, there are plenty of 'oldtimers' not as brave as you Wink. Don't get me wrong, it's just that the traditional South African Rodding recipe requires a 350 Chev on top of your Jag front suspension no matter what body you use.

thanks for your reply guys.Well the build is a 55 model F100 ford bakkie or around there, and I need a bit of a challenge, something different to build.what Im aiming for is something that goes well and handels well to so the chassis will be remade with some later model type suspension independant in the rear and something I will work out in the front,as for the motor side of things I want to keep it ford, maybe big block if I can find one.If not I see you can get 408 cu in stroker kits for the small block.but thats a far way away to decide will keep you up to date

Gavin Wilkins runs an eight-second stroker windsor at Tarlton, if anybody knows how to build a decent 351 it will be him. PM me if you want his contact details....

Sorry Dane my intention was not to show you away...............if you want a big block maybe look at a 390ci FE Ford (6.39lt). If its over bored .03 & you drop in standard 428 FE crank shaft you'll get a 416ci (6.82lt). This is a build which I have read up on & would like to do myself, but I have no experiance on FE Fords. Thats why I suggested AMCF.........loads of tech guys there. Your "55 F100 will feel more at home here than at AMCF anyway  Grin

thanks for the input.Ive had a chat to Gavin Wilkins and it look like I might go the stroker route with a nice set of heads and a cam, it should make decent power.Clint you never chased me away bud.It would take a whole lot more than that Wink
